It does not seem to be related to database size.

initializing flickr and more than than 500,000. 

At what point does the delay occur?

Is it during "initializing flickr"?

Or during "initializing database" (or similar)?

Maybe it is because of a very large database size?

Under "Tools/Check Database" how many entries does it report, that the database contains?

1st off, why are most post locked? Is something happening behind the scenes? 

2nd 

When I start the program it takes about 20 minutes to load and that is on a good day? Any idea on how to speed this process up?
