Videos go thru 'processing' but never appear in catalog

Disregard! After fighting it today it somehow resolved itself today. I have no idea what went wrong, but after closing/opening Video Manager dozens of times the missing vids magically appeared in the library. They appeared in red, denoting that the video files associated with those library items were missing. But that allowed me to at least delete them so that they could be re-imported.

I'm doing my first bit of cataloging after upgrading to the latest version (which may have nothing to do with anything but thought I should at least mention that) and I just cannot get this batch of videos to appear in the catalog. Out of the 19 vids, I can find 2 in the catalog.

As soon as I copied them to one of the watched folders, VM scanned, found and processed all the videos but 17 of the 19 do not appear anywhere in the catalog. I tried changing filenames to try again but VM seemed to recognize them as dupes and never bothered to process them (which is a good thing!) So then I ran them all through a video converter and converted them from .mov to .mp4. Now VM did not recognize them and so it found & reprocessed all of them. But they still do not appear anywhere.

I've rebooted my PC twice. I'm just at a loss...
