I have also installed version 3 beta from
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-trunk
The help-about says
version 3.0a1pre (2008040302)

and the executable
C:Program FilesMozilla Thunderbirdthunderbird.exe
is 1.9.0.3014

I will have to see how to handle beta versions.

I just installed version 2.0.0.12 of the program.
However if you go to the installation folder
e.g.
C:Program FilesMozilla Thunderbirdthunderbird.exe
The exe file is marked as version 1.8.20080.21305

This is probably something they need to fix.

I am not sure what the 1.9 version is.
Maybe it is Version 3 beta?

Hi,

I don't know why but Saleen Updater is not recognising correctly my Thunderbird version: I've installed the latest 2.0.0.12 and the app is suggesting me to update from 1.8.20080 build:21305 to 1.9.0 build 2998.

I'm working under Windows XP Pro with all the security updates installed.
